Author Guidelines
General Guidelines
- Articles must be original (not plagiarism) and have never been published in another journal. If the article has previously been presented in seminars, workshops, or similar academic activities, the author must clearly mention the name of the activity.
- Articles are written using Microsoft Word on A4 size paper with page margins: top 3 cm, left 3 cm, bottom 3 cm, and right 3 cm. The manuscript should be typed using 1.5 line spacing, with Gramound font size 12, and formatted in a single-column layout.
- Tables, charts, and figures must be embedded properly in the text by adjusting spacing through the “add space before/after paragraph” feature to ensure readability and consistency.
- Authors must submit their manuscript in Microsoft Word (DOC) or Rich Text Format (RTF).
- The Title and Abstract must be written in both Indonesian and English, while the full manuscript may be written in either Indonesian or English.
Structure of Paper
The manuscript should range between 4,500 to 9,000 words and must be written systematically according to the following structure:
- Title: Written concisely and informatively, with a maximum of 15 words (single-spaced), reflecting the core substance of the article.
- Name of Author: Written without academic titles; authors may be individuals or collaborative teams.
- Affiliation: Clearly state the institutional affiliation.
- Email Address: Placed directly under the author's name.
- Abstract: 150–250 words in a single paragraph. The abstract should concisely present the research problem, research objectives, methodology, findings, and the theoretical and/or practical contributions of the study. It should provide a clear overview of the study without including citations, figures, tables, or undefined abbreviations.
- Keywords: Provide 3–6 keywords that accurately represent the main concepts of the study.
Main Body of Manuscript:
- INTRODUCTION: Provides the academic background, literature review, research gap or novelty, research objectives, and the significance of the study. This section should be written as a continuous narrative without subsections and typically consists of 2–3 pages.
- METHOD: Describes the research design, approach, data sources, data collection procedures, and analytical methods used in the study. For studies related to Islamic or Sharia issues, authors should clearly explain the analytical framework or mechanism used to examine the Sharia aspects. This section is mandatory for original research articles.
- RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Presents the research findings in a logical sequence using appropriate subheadings, followed by critical discussion that interprets the findings, relates them to previous studies, and highlights their theoretical and practical implications.
- CONCLUSION: Summarizes the principal findings of the study, addresses the research objectives, and highlights the study's contributions, implications, limitations, and recommendations for future research. Do not merely repeat the discussion.
- ACKNOWLEDGEMENT: Acknowledge individuals, institutions, or funding agencies that provided financial, technical, or academic support but do not meet the criteria for authorship. If there is no acknowledgement, write "Not applicable."
- AUTHOR CONTRIBUTIONS STATEMENT: Clearly describe each author's contribution to the manuscript using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) or an equivalent contribution statement.
- AI USAGE STATEMENT: Authors must disclose any use of artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted technologies in the preparation of the manuscript. AI tools may be used only to improve language, readability, or grammar and must not be listed as authors. If no AI tools were used, state: "The authors declare that no artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript."
- CONFLICT OF INTEREST: Authors must declare any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the research. If no conflict exists, state: "The authors declare no conflict of interest."
- REFERENCES: Lists all cited works.
Reference & Citation Rules
References: The reference list must include only works cited in the manuscript and should prioritize relevant, high-quality, and recent scholarly sources (preferably published within the last 10 years). References must be arranged alphabetically according to the APA 7th Edition style.
- The manuscript must follow the APA 7th Edition author–date citation style for both in-text citations and the reference list.
- Direct quotations of fewer than 40 words should be incorporated into the text using double quotation marks and accompanied by the author, year, and page number. Quotations of 40 words or more must be presented as block quotations, indented from the left margin, without quotation marks, following the APA 7th Edition guidelines.
- References to the Qur'an and Hadith should follow the journal's preferred format. Qur'anic citations should be written as (Qur'an, Surah Al-Mu'min [40]: 43) or an equivalent consistent format adopted by the journal. Hadith citations should identify the compiler (e.g., Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim) and, where applicable, include complete bibliographic information in the reference list.
- Authors are required to use reference management software, such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or similar applications, to ensure citation accuracy and consistency.
- Where available, authors are encouraged to include Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) or persistent URLs for all references.
