Author Guidelines

Indonesian Journal of Dakwah and Communication

Authors intending to submit manuscripts to An-Nahdah: Journal of Dakwah and Communication are required to comply with the following guidelines:

  1. Manuscripts must align with the journal’s focus and scope, which encompass studies in dakwah (Islamic preaching), communication, media, and contemporary Islamic studies from both theoretical and practical perspectives.
  2. Article topics may include, but are not limited to:
    • Dakwah and Islamic broadcasting;
    • Dakwah management and dakwah strategies;
    • Digital dakwah and dakwah media;
    • Islamic counseling and socio-psychological approaches;
    • Interpersonal, organizational, group, and mass communication;
    • Political communication and development communication;
    • Journalism, new media, and social media;
    • Public Relations (PR), media relations, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), advertising, and marketing communication;
    • Communication studies based on local culture and indigenous wisdom;
    • Contemporary media and communication studies.
  3. Manuscripts must be original scholarly works that have not been previously published and are not under review by any other journal.
  4. Articles may be written in either Indonesian or English using proper academic language.
  5. Manuscripts must be prepared using the following format:
    • A4 paper size;
    • Times New Roman, 12-point font;
    • Multiple line spacing (1.15);
    • Normal margins.
  6. The manuscript length should range from 4,500 to 9,000 words, including the abstract and references.
  7. The article title must be written in Times New Roman, 14-point font, and should be concise, informative, and representative of the manuscript content.
  8. Articles must include abstracts in both English and Indonesian, with a length of 150–250 words each.
  9. Authors are required to provide:
    • Full name (without academic titles);
    • Institutional affiliation;
    • Active email address;
    • Corresponding author designation (if applicable).
  10. Keywords should consist of 3–6 specific concepts relevant to the article.
  11. Research articles must follow the following structure:
  • Introduction;
  • Method;
  • Results and Discussion;
  • Conclusion;
  • Acknowledgement;
  • Author Contributions Statement;
  • AI Usage Statement;
  • Conflict of Interest;
  • Bibliography.
  1. The Introduction section should include:
  • Background of the study;
  • Literature review;
  • Research gap;
  • Research objectives.
  1. The Method section should be written descriptively and clearly explain the research methodology employed.
  2. The Results and Discussion section must present research findings clearly and concisely and analyze them using relevant theories to demonstrate the novelty and contribution of the study.
  3. Tables, figures, and interview quotations must follow the formatting requirements specified in the journal template.
  4. All references and citations must adhere to the APA Style (7th Edition). Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.
  5. References must be arranged alphabetically, and all sources cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference list.
  6. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  7. The review process follows a double-blind peer-review system; therefore, all author-identifying information must be removed from the main manuscript file.
  8. The editors reserve the right to make editorial revisions regarding language, formatting, and writing style without altering the substantive content of the manuscript.
  9. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism or violations of publication ethics will be rejected.
  10. Authors are required to include an AI Usage Statement in accordance with the provisions specified in the journal template.
