Integrasi Pengalaman Mengajar dan Penelitian dalam Penulisan Buku Akademik: Model Webinar Interaktif bagi Dosen Perguruan Tinggi

This community service activity aims to improve lecturers' competency in writing textbooks, monographs, and reference books based on their teaching experience and research findings. The background to this activity is based on the still low ability of lecturers to produce systematic academic books, as well as limited understanding of the differences and characteristics of each type of book. In addition, technical obstacles in writing and publication and low motivation are factors that hinder lecturers' academic productivity. The method used was an interactive webinar with a participatory and practice-based approach. This activity involved the delivery of conceptual material, training in book outline preparation, integration of teaching and research experience, and strategies for publishing books with ISBNs. The learning process in the webinar emphasized reflection on lecturers' experiences and the development of ideas into structured academic book drafts. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the types and systematics of academic book writing, as well as improved technical skills in drafting books. Furthermore, this activity also succeeded in increasing lecturers' motivation to write and encouraging the integration of teaching and research in the form of scientific papers. The impact of this activity is not only seen in increased knowledge and skills, but also in the emergence of awareness of the importance of a writing culture among lecturers. Thus, this webinar has proven effective as a model of community service in improving the academic capacity of lecturers and supporting the sustainable strengthening of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

[Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dosen dalam menulis buku ajar, monograf, dan buku referensi berbasis pengalaman mengajar dan hasil penelitian. Latar belakang kegiatan ini didasarkan pada masih rendahnya kemampuan dosen dalam menghasilkan buku akademik yang sistematis, serta terbatasnya pemahaman mengenai perbedaan dan karakteristik masing-masing jenis buku. Selain itu, kendala teknis dalam penulisan dan publikasi serta rendahnya motivasi menjadi faktor penghambat produktivitas akademik dosen. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelaksanaan webinar interaktif dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis praktik. Kegiatan ini melibatkan penyampaian materi konseptual, pelatihan penyusunan outline buku, integrasi pengalaman mengajar dan penelitian, serta strategi penerbitan buku ber-ISBN. Proses pembelajaran dalam webinar menekankan pada refleksi pengalaman dosen dan pengembangan ide menjadi draft buku akademik yang terstruktur. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya pemahaman yang lebih bagi peserta terkait jenis dan sistematika penulisan buku akademik, serta terbukanya wawasan akan teknis dalam menyusun draft buku. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga memotivasi dosen untuk menulis serta mendorong integrasi antara pengajaran dan penelitian dalam bentuk karya tulis ilmiah. Dampak kegiatan ini tidak hanya terlihat dengan bertambahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan, tetapi juga dalam munculnya kesadaran akan pentingnya budaya menulis di kalangan dosen. Pendampingan Penyusunan Usulan Penetapan Dam Cluwok (Kersluit Gesikan) sebagai Bangunan Cagar Budaya di Kabupaten Tulungagung

service project aims to encourage the designation of Dam Cluwok (Kersluit Gesikan) as a Cultural Heritage Building in Tulungagung Regency. This structure is a legacy of Dutch colonial infrastructure that holds historical, technological, and social significance, particularly in the system of water management and irrigation. In addition to functioning as a water flow control structure, Dam Cluwok represents the development of colonial hydraulic engineering that continues to provide benefits for the surrounding community. However, the lack of public awareness and the absence of official designation as a cultural heritage site make this structure vulnerable to damage and the loss of its historical significance. The implementation method employs a participatory approach involving the local community, the Tulungagung Regional Government, the Cultural Heritage Expert Team, historians, and other relevant stakeholders. The activities include the identification and documentation of the structure, socialization of cultural heritage values, and assistance in the process of proposing its designation. The results indicate an increased public understanding of the importance of preserving cultural heritage, as well as the growth of collective support for the designation of Dam Cluwok as a Cultural Heritage Building. This project underscores the importance of collaboration between the community and the government in maintaining the sustainability of local historical heritage.

Strengthening the Implementation of Maqashid al-Shariah in Healthcare Services through Participatory Action Research at an Islamic Hospital in Pekalongan

The implementation of maqashid al-shariah in healthcare services is essential for strengthening holistic and value-based healthcare in Islamic hospitals. However, healthcare workers often have a limited understanding of integrating Islamic values into daily clinical practice. This community service program was conducted at an Islamic Hospital in Pekalongan on Thursday, 21 May, involving 20 healthcare workers. The program aimed to strengthen the implementation of maqashid al-shariah through training and mentoring activities. The intervention employed a participatory approach consisting of preliminary observation, training sessions, group discussions, practical mentoring, and reflective evaluation. The program was completed in one day, beginning at 8:00 AM. The success indicators included participants' attendance, active participation in discussions, understanding of maqashid al-shariah concepts, and the preparation of follow-up recommendations for integrating Islamic values into healthcare services. All 20 participants (100%) attended the activity and actively participated in the discussions and mentoring sessions. Participants demonstrated a better understanding of the application of maqashid al-shariah, particularly regarding hifz al-din (protection of religion) and hifz al-nafs (protection of life), and formulated recommendations to strengthen its implementation within healthcare services. The program concludes that training and mentoring are effective approaches to promoting the integration of maqashid al-shariah principles into healthcare services and should be supported by continuous institutional commitment and policy development.

Pendampingan Internalisasi Nilai Kewirausahaan Kreatif melalui Teaching Factory pada Siswa SMK Negeri 2 Pekalongan

The changing world of work and the growth of the creative economy require vocational high school graduates to possess not only technical skills but also creativity, independence, responsibility, adaptability, and an entrepreneurial mindset. The main challenge faced by the partner, SMK Negeri 2 Pekalongan, is not the lack of practice facilities but the limited optimization of Swalayan SAKPORE as a teaching factory for internalizing creative entrepreneurial values through authentic business experiences. This community service program aimed to strengthen students’ internalization of creative entrepreneurial values by optimizing Swalayan SAKPORE as an experience-based entrepreneurship laboratory. The program employed an experiential learning approach through five stages: needs identification, training, business practice, mentoring and monitoring, and evaluation and sustainability. Students were directly involved in inventory management, product display, customer service, marketing, product development, and business decision-making, while teachers and the community service team acted as mentors and facilitators. The results indicate that students’ involvement in authentic business activities provided opportunities to develop creativity through product development and promotional strategies, independence in taking initiatives, responsibility for assigned tasks, discipline in following operational procedures, and adaptability in responding to business problems and changing situations. The process also demonstrated a shift in students’ involvement from merely performing operational tasks toward more active participation in generating ideas, implementing initiatives, and evaluating business activities. The main contribution of this program is the strengthening of the teaching factory function from a conventional vocational retail practice environment into an entrepreneurship laboratory that integrates authentic business experience, reflection, idea development, implementation, evaluation, and innovation. This cyclical model provides a practical mentoring framework that can potentially be adapted to other teaching factory settings in vocational schools according to their business characteristics and students’ learning needs.

[Perubahan dunia kerja dan perkembangan ekonomi kreatif menuntut lulusan Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) tidak hanya menguasai keterampilan teknis, tetapi juga memiliki kreativitas, kemandirian, tanggung jawab, kemampuan beradaptasi, dan pola pikir kewirausahaan. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra, SMK Negeri 2 Pekalongan, bukan terletak pada keterbatasan sarana praktik, tetapi pada belum optimalnya pemanfaatan Swalayan SAKPORE sebagai teaching factory untuk menginternalisasikan nilai kewirausahaan kreatif melalui pengalaman bisnis yang nyata. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memperkuat internalisasi nilai kewirausahaan kreatif siswa melalui optimalisasi Swalayan SAKPORE sebagai laboratorium kewirausahaan berbasis pengalaman. Metode pengabdian menggunakan pendekatan experiential learning melalui lima tahapan, yaitu identifikasi kebutuhan, pelatihan, praktik bisnis, pendampingan dan monitoring, serta evaluasi dan keberlanjutan. Peserta terlibat langsung dalam pengelolaan stok, penataan display, pelayanan konsumen, pemasaran, pengembangan produk, dan pengambilan keputusan bisnis, dengan guru dan tim pengabdi berperan sebagai pendamping dan fasilitator. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa keterlibatan dalam aktivitas bisnis nyata memberikan ruang bagi siswa untuk mengembangkan kreativitas melalui pengembangan produk dan strategi promosi, kemandirian dalam mengambil inisiatif, tanggung jawab terhadap tugas, disiplin dalam menjalankan prosedur, serta kemampuan beradaptasi terhadap persoalan dan perubahan situasi usaha. Proses tersebut menunjukkan pergeseran aktivitas siswa dari sekadar menjalankan tugas operasional menuju keterlibatan yang lebih aktif dalam menghasilkan ide, mengimplementasikan gagasan, dan melakukan evaluasi. Kontribusi utama kegiatan ini adalah penguatan fungsi teaching factory dari sekadar lingkungan praktik kompetensi ritel menjadi laboratorium kewirausahaan yang mengintegrasikan pengalaman bisnis, refleksi, pengembangan ide, implementasi, evaluasi, dan inovasi. This community service is motivated by the weak integration between the agricultural sector and industrialization, which results in low added value, productivity, and global competitiveness. The objective of this program is to strengthen the synergy between agricultural actors and the industrial sector through empowerment-based assistance to enhance production capacity and market access. The method applied is a participatory approach involving training, technical assistance, and partnership facilitation between farmers and industry stakeholders. The results indicate an improvement in farmers’ understanding of downstream processes, product processing, and industrial quality standards. Furthermore, there is an increase in the added value of agricultural products through diversification and the strengthening of a more efficient supply chain. The assistance also encourages the establishment of sustainable partnerships between farmers and industrial sectors. Overall, this program contributes to strengthening the agricultural sector as the foundation of national industrialization, enhancing Indonesia’s global competitiveness, and supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
