Integrasi Pengalaman Mengajar dan Penelitian dalam Penulisan Buku Akademik: Model Webinar Interaktif bagi Dosen Perguruan Tinggi

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve lecturers' competency in writing textbooks, monographs, and reference books based on their teaching experience and research findings. The background to this activity is based on the still low ability of lecturers to produce systematic academic books, as well as limited understanding of the differences and characteristics of each type of book. In addition, technical obstacles in writing and publication and low motivation are factors that hinder lecturers' academic productivity. The method used was an interactive webinar with a participatory and practice-based approach. This activity involved the delivery of conceptual material, training in book outline preparation, integration of teaching and research experience, and strategies for publishing books with ISBNs. The learning process in the webinar emphasized reflection on lecturers' experiences and the development of ideas into structured academic book drafts. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the types and systematics of academic book writing, as well as improved technical skills in drafting books. Furthermore, this activity also succeeded in increasing lecturers' motivation to write and encouraging the integration of teaching and research in the form of scientific papers. The impact of this activity is not only seen in increased knowledge and skills, but also in the emergence of awareness of the importance of a writing culture among lecturers. Thus, this webinar has proven effective as a model of community service in improving the academic capacity of lecturers and supporting the sustainable strengthening of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

[Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dosen dalam menulis buku ajar, monograf, dan buku referensi berbasis pengalaman mengajar dan hasil penelitian. Latar belakang kegiatan ini didasarkan pada masih rendahnya kemampuan dosen dalam menghasilkan buku akademik yang sistematis, serta terbatasnya pemahaman mengenai perbedaan dan karakteristik masing-masing jenis buku. Selain itu, kendala teknis dalam penulisan dan publikasi serta rendahnya motivasi menjadi faktor penghambat produktivitas akademik dosen. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelaksanaan webinar interaktif dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan berbasis praktik. Kegiatan ini melibatkan penyampaian materi konseptual, pelatihan penyusunan outline buku, integrasi pengalaman mengajar dan penelitian, serta strategi penerbitan buku ber-ISBN. Proses pembelajaran dalam webinar menekankan pada refleksi pengalaman dosen dan pengembangan ide menjadi draft buku akademik yang terstruktur. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya pemahaman yang lebih bagi peserta terkait jenis dan sistematika penulisan buku akademik, serta terbukanya wawasan akan teknis dalam menyusun draft buku. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga memotivasi dosen untuk menulis serta mendorong integrasi antara pengajaran dan penelitian dalam bentuk karya tulis ilmiah. Dampak kegiatan ini tidak hanya terlihat dengan bertambahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan, tetapi juga dalam munculnya kesadaran akan pentingnya budaya menulis di kalangan dosen. Dengan demikian, webinar ini sebagai model pengabdian masyarakat dalam membentuk kemampaun akademik dosen dan mendukung penguatan tridharma perguruan tinggi secara berkelanjutan, sehingga perlu keberlanjutan agar bisa melahirkan output atau produk berupa buku akademik.]
